Chromium (Cr)
Chromium (Cr)
Our 1kg Chromium ingots come with our 99%+ purity guarantee.
Why is Chromium special:
Chromium is used to harden steel, manufacture stainless steel (won’t rust) and to produce several alloys.
Chromium plating on metal products (i.e. taps) or engineering parts helps minimise wear and tear and can provide a decorative polished finish.
Chromium compounds are used as industrial catalysts and pigments (in bright green, yellow, red and orange colours). Rubies get their red colour from chromium, and glass treated with chromium has an emerald green colour.
